Here, in Grasse, between the sea and the mountains of Provence, you are in the world capital of perfume. Grasse and its surroundings have earned this title for hundreds of years, thanks to the ideal local climate for growing flowers of exceptional quality. An infinite variety of plants and flowers flourish there and their scents have traveled the world thanks to the extraction methods of French know-how, earning Grasse its reputation as the world capital of perfume.
In 1935, inspired by his own flower garden, Armand Petitjean launched the House that would one day become the world's leading luxury perfume and beauty brand, Lancome. Continuing to grow its roots in Grasse, the world capital of perfume, is therefore a natural evolution for Lancôme.
Recently acquired by the brand, the Domaine de la Rose de Lancôme includes 4 hectares of organically cultivated fields, century-old terraces and even a distillery. The estate's land is perfect for the blossoming of the flowers dear to Lancome. With this new acquisition, Lancôme wishes to contribute to the preservation and protection of this know-how essential to the world of fragrance: the cultivation of perfume plants in Grasse, and thus to continue the development of a variety of rose and otherfragrant flowers, within the framework of organic and sustainable agriculture.
Lancôme's production there is certified by the European Union as organic farming within the framework of ECOCERT certification. This commitment ensures a culture that respects the protection of the climate and the environment, the conservation of soil fertility, the preservation of biodiversity, the respect of natural cycles and the well- being of animals, without the use of products chemical, synthetic or GMO. Finally, Maison Lancome is proud to contribute to the international promotion of the unique treasures of the Grasse region, classified as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. Domaine de la Rose offers a poetic momentum in Lancôme's quest to continue creating precious fragrances and skincare, using the finest natural ingredients. This acquisition is truly a new home for Lancôme and its emblematic rose, both a tribute to the past and the prospect of a bright future.
